IN CONVERSATION WITH SHANNON DEBRECENY

Originally from Port Macquarie, Shannon has been cooking for over 22 years and still genuinely loves food. Unlike a lot of chefs, he enjoys cooking at home - to the delight of his partner, family, and friends.

After five years at LP's Quality Meats, he joins Victor Churchill for the exceptional quality of produce.

What made you want to become a chef?

Being able to produce and provide dishes for guests to enjoy and see the instant enjoyment on there faces was a big factor in wanting to become a chef.

Do you remember the first time you stepped foot in Victor Churchill?

I remember the excitement and anticipation of wanting to go to Victor Churchill and being so impressed by the space, but it was the selection and quality of the produce available that was even more impressive. I had met Anthony briefly on a few occasions before starting at Victor Churchill and was always impressed by his friendly and personable manner which was proven even more when I started working at Victor Churchill.

What inspired you to join the Victor Churchill family?

It was the opportunity to work with an amazing team producing world class products from amazing producers - especially the beautiful terrines and pates.

What’s next? What are your hopes, plans or aspirations for Victor Churchill?

I hope to further progress the amazing work already done by the Victor Churchill team and develop and encourage my colleagues.
